Chamber of Commerce lands top honour

DERBYSHIRE and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce has been named as the UK’s Chamber of the Year.

The UK’s third largest chamber was picked out for its role as the driving force behind the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) helping the region to form one of the earliest and most powerful partnerships in the country to help local business.

The Chamber has also seen record levels of new membership over the last two years by improving its services and customer care plan. It has attracted both small and large companies, earning it the British Chambers of Commerce’s Excellence in Membership Services award.

John Longworth, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, said: “This Chamber stands out as a shining light to others. Its pioneering work on a national, regional and local level means its members get early access to the latest initiatives as well as extending its services to other Chambers.

“It’s incredible recruitment achievement means all members can be offered a genuine opportunity to influence the business community. The Chamber has shown that forging important partnerships across counties adds up to an impressive affiliate network for its members. This really is best practice.”

The Chamber’s unrivalled range of services includes events, well-researched training courses on international trade, lobbying and trade missions.
