Four solictors take the brief route to promotion at firm

Four solicitors at Belper-based Shacklocks Solicitors & Investment Advisors have been promoted to become partners of the firm.

Rebecca Fox, Clare McShane, Ben Stubbins and Susan Thomas were appointed to their new roles as part of the company’s “progression program”.

They bring the total number of partners at the firm to nine.

Ms Fox joined Shacklocks as a trainee in 2008 and qualified in 2010.

She specialises in ethics and regulatory issues and spends her spare time visiting National Trust properties and going to the theatre.

Ice hockey fan Clare McShane, qualified in 2007 and is part of Shacklocks’ dedicated Business Unit.

Meanwhile, Ben Stubbins qualified in 2003, and has since developed his career at Shacklocks, in the Family Law Department. Rotary member and keen target shooter, Ben, specialises in cohabitation and financial provisions in divorce.

Finally, mother-of-four, Susan Thomas qualified as a solicitor in 1989 andspecialises in commercial property.

“The appointments arise as part of the firm’s Progression Program launched in 2010, designed to enable Shacklocks to retain talented solicitors by providing opportunities for career planning, and progression for the firm’s qualified solicitors.
