BELPER’S MP Pauline Latham has added her support to the fight by Derby train company Bombardier after it lost a major order to Germany.
More than a thousands job have already been shed at the trainmaker after the Government’s decision to award a £1.4bn contract to Siemens.
The MP could not attend a public meeting on the situation in the city on Thursday but sent a letter of support.
In it she said: “The decision to award the Thameslink contract to Siemens has caused a great deal of hurt in Derby, and I am extremely concerned at the way this contract was decided. I do not believe that enough consideration was given to the devastating effect that this decision is having on the area.”
