Four employees of a Derbyshire hair salon have reached the finals of a national L’Oreal competition.

Sally Montague stylists Lizzie Fox, Deesh Dhindsa and Zoe Thompson from Duffield as well as Alice Spencer and Laura Robertson from Belper combined their knowledge of catwalk trends and hairdressing expertise to create a stunning model in just 45 heart-racing minutes.

And their efforts not only impressed judges at the North Western Regional Final of the prestigious L’Oreal Colour Trophy, but propelled them to the next stage.

Sixty hairstylists and colourists from across the region battled it out on the competition floor of The Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester for only six sought-after places in the final.

And the Sally Montague team made use of locally sourced clothing from vintage stores and a couture-inspired fishtail dress from bridal boutique, Mimi Toko, of Duffield, to bag their place.

Director Sally Montague said: “As the L’Oreal Colour Trophy is ‘Hair Inspired by Fashion’, each team took inspiration from London Fashion Week, fusing their favourite designers to create a fashion-forward style.

“It was an incredible result and testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams throughout the group. We can’t wait for the Grand Final in June.”

The team will join the UK’s most talented hairdressers on Monday, June 3 during the 58th annual L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final in the dazzling Grosvenor House, Park

Lane, London.
