A ‘passionate’ quantity surveyor has been awarded a top prize at a prestigious London awards night.

Stacey Kirkham, from Belper, was presented with the surveying prize by the Duke of Gloucester’s Young Achievers Scheme.

The 25-year-old who works at Interserve in Alfreton impressed the judges with her dedication to the industry and her passion for encouraging young people to consider construction as a career choice.

She joined Interserve at just 17 in a traineeship programme and has since completed a degree.

And during an awards ceremony at the Royal Institute of British architects she joined more than 200 senior industry figures and HRH The Duke of Gloucester to receive a prize for her work.

The finalists were judged by an esteemed panel of industry experts through a rigorous process of presentations and interviews earlier in the year.

The judges commented: “Stacey’s passion both for the work she does as a quantity surveyor and for her role as an ambassador, educating schoolchildren about opportunities in construction, shines through like a beacon.

“She is a great role model to others considering a career in construction.”

Interserve is one of the world’s foremost support services and construction companies,

The company is based in the UK and is in the FTSE 250 index. It has revenue of £1.9 billion and a workforce of nearly 50,000 people worldwide.
