Car wash helps crew generate £509 for fire charity

Fire fighters in Belper blazed a £509 fundraising trail with a charity car wash.

The Matlock Road crew and their support staff rolled up their sleeves, grabbed their buckets and sponges and washed cars in exchange for donationsin aid of the Firefighters Charity.

The Firefighters Charity is the leading provider of services that enhance the quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

In 2011, over £290,000 was raised nationally through Firefighters Charity car wash events, which took place in March and September. This money went directly towards helping fire and rescue community members in need of rehabilitation and recuperation treatments.
