Holbrook Hall is taking part in the first ever National Care Home Open day on Friday, June 21.
The idea is to encourage people to visit care homes in their neighbourhood and develop better relationships between the home and the community.
The hall, which opened on Makeney Road in 1985, already welcomes children on work experience and the Duke of Edinburgh Award and links with churches and societies.
As part of the open daythere will be a coffee morning and afternoon strawberry tea. Visitors can also join activities including Zumba, gardening, craft work and quizzes.
Barbara Mee, Manager at the home, said: “Some people still have misconceptions about care homes so we are keen to dispel any myths that are out there.”
