THE Belper Unitarian Chapel has pledged to support a charity that helps children from deprived backgrounds.
At the Chapel’s annual general meeting it was decided that money raised from monthly coffee mornings in the next year, and from the harvest festival, would go to the Send a Child to Hucklow (SACH) fund.
The Nightingale Centre in Great Hucklow, Derbyshire, is a holiday and conference facility which supports children aged between eight and 16 from deprived backgrounds or who have issues that form barriers in their lives.
The facilities are offered to all young people with a need for a break. Some of the children who have benefited from this have never before been away from home.
