WEIGHTWATCHERS from Belper have taken part in a charity treadmill marathon.

More than 30 members of local groups covered a total of 98.189 miles.

Organiser Denise Clarke said: “People did as much as they felt comfortable with.

“It worked out that we covered the equivalent of 3.75 marathons.

“The idea was to get people into the gym who had never been there before.”

So far the marathon has raised more than £500. The total amount generated will be split between the neonatal unit at Royal Derby Hospital and Tommy’s the baby charity.
