PROUD youngsters got a possible taste of the future when they ‘graduated’ from their playgroup in Belper.
Openwoodgate Playgroup, on Over Lane, held a small ceremony for those children who are leaving them to start primary school in September.
The children donned caps and gowns and were presented with scrolls by the Deputy Mayor of Belper Cllr Mark Robertson as part of the ceremony at the playgroup’s base at St Mark’s Church hall.
After the ceremony, staff, the children and their parents enjoyed a party complete with food and drinks.
A spokeswoman for the playgroup said: “We are a registered charity and rely on the support of parents and local businesses with such events.
“As such, we want to express our gratitude to Derbyshire Catering for supporting us in this event and providing the catering.”
