A GO-ahead centre in Belper will be running children’s arts activities next month – thanks to a grant from the town council.
Fleet Arts wants children aged five to 11 years to go along and make walnut shell containers, mini water wheels which can be decorated, small drums and stringed instruments out of junk, and origami boxes and mini bags from paper or cloth – and more.
Fleet Arts’ director Sarah Laman said: “We are delighted that Belper Town Council has been able to offer us a grant again, so that we can keep the cost of attending the workshops down this year.
“There are some very experienced workers running the workshops. All are local people and will do some really fun workshops that I am sure the children will enjoy and also learn a lot from!”
The workshops, to be held at the group’s base on The Fleet, Belper, take place on Friday, August 5, and from Monday, August 8 until Thursday, August 11. All sessions are 10am-3pm and children are to bring their own lunch.
It costs £7.25 per child for waged households and £4 for households with low or no wage income. Ring 01773 820484 or email email@example.com to book a place.
