A bowls club has applied to build a new clubhouse and pavilion in Holbrook.
The Holbrook Bowls Club are planning to replace their old pavilion on Shaw Lane - which is “little more than a modified shed with limited life expectancy,” according to an application.
The club - founded in the 1920s as part of the Holbrook Miners Welfare - acts as a host for other bodies such as the police for their inter-force matches.
It currently has six teams competing in the Belper Leagues and two playing in the South Derbyshire leagues.
An application to Amber Valley Borough Council said the finish of the new clubhouse would match existing bowling club buildings and would “greatly enhance” facilities for visitors and members.
