Competition to form part of town’s first literary fest

A short story competition has been launched as part of Belper’s first literary festival - with the winner set to scoop a prize of £200.

As part of the wider Belper Arts Festival, the contest is being launched to help foster literary talent in the town.

Second place will receive a £50 voucher from Scarthin Books.

Entrants must submit their work by March 1, 2013 and it must be an original, previously unpublished fiction story on any subject or genre. The maximum word count is 2,500 and entry is £5.
