Council appeals for extra Winter help

Farmers and contractors in Amber Valley are being urged to join Derbyshire County Council in helping to keep roads and pavements clear of snow this winter.

Last year the county council’s gritters were helped by around 60 farmers and other contractors who ploughed the roads.

This year the authority is aiming to get even more on board across the borough.

Councillor Dean Collins, Deputy Cabinet Member for Jobs, Economy and Transport, said: “Extra help is needed to grit and clear snow from other roads such as to isolated villages.” To sign -up visit
