Council tax to be frozen

AMBER Valley Borough Council has announced proposals to freeze council tax for the third year in a row.

Council leader Stuart Bradford will propose no increase to council tax when the authority meets on Wednesday, February 29.

Cllr Bradford said: “My commitment to a nil increase follows the previous pledges given to maintaining low council taxes for Amber Valley residents and as a consequence of the strenuous efforts made by everyone at the council to deliver savings and improved efficiency.

“I am acutely aware of how difficult times are for people right now and that’s why we want to offer real help to hard-pressed families, with their cost of living rising in these difficult times.”
