Belper Town Council were set to discuss the re-opening of the town’s Strutt Street toilets at a meeting last night.

Councillors had called the extraordinary meeting at the town’s St John’s Chapel to discuss entering into a parntership arrangement to fund the facilities.

The toilets closed on March 31, after Amber Valley Borough Council decided to axe funding as part of 14 closures across the borough.

Toilets at The Triangle were also closed under the money saving measures. However, the Belper News revealed last week Strutt Street could re-open. See for updates.
