young motorists on Belper’s Coppice car park have been warned by police during a crackdown on anti-social behaviour.

Officers acted after complaints about drivers playing loud music and doing handbrake turns on the car park off Market Place.

One youth, aged 17, had a moped confiscated after police paid a visit to the site.

The police were following up reports that up to 15 vehicles were in the car park and playing loud music at 10pm one night.

One local said: “I have been to pick up my car in the car park after dark and there are always youngsters in cars on there. It can be slightly intimidating as well.”
