Crich museum rolls back the years for 1940s event

Crich Tramway Village will transport visitors back in time for the Second World War Home Front event on Sunday and Monday, April 16 and 17.

Vintage trams from the era run all day to the sound of air-raid warnings and low flying aircraft, while roads will be packed with military vehicles and off-duty personnel.

The Red Lion pub will be serving the spivs drinks including cask ales, and hosting traditional pub games, and war time sing-songs from popular entertainers.

Children can take part in activities including an Easter egg hunt, a boot camp and evacuee role-play scenarios.
