Amber Valley Borough Council is due to hold an annual meeting tonight, November 13, in Belper to discuss crime and disorder in the borough.
The Crime and Disorder Improvement and Scrutiny Committee will meet at 7pm at the Nailers Function Suite, Belper Town Football Club, off The Triangle.
A council spokeswoman said: “If you have been affected by crime and social disorder, anti-social behaviour or if you take an interest in the safety of your neighbourhood, this event presents a great opportunity.
“You will be able to meet the people responsible for keeping your area safe and to hear about the role and priorities of the Safer Neighbourhoods Team in Amber Valley.”
Representatives from the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service will also be attending the meeting to discuss the new proposals affecting the fire service and the transformation of service delivery for 2022 and beyond.
A public speaking session will take place at the start and representatives from the police, the community safety partnership, the fire service and the council will be available to answer your questions.

Under the Police and Justice Act 2006, the Crime and Disorder Committee has the power to scrutinise the local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRP), as a whole, in terms of how they are tackling crime and disorder for the benefit of the local communities. The committee meets annually.
