Appeal after man allegedly threatened victim and robbed backpack in Chesterfield

Derbyshire Constabulary published a picture of a man they are trying to identify in connection with an alleged robbery in Chesterfield.
Two friends were waiting for a bus at a stop in Low Pavement at around 4.45pm on Thursday, July 1 who were then approached by a man.

Hide AdHe is claimed to have asked one of the friends for a light for his cigarette.
Once the friend then lit the stranger’s cigarette for him, it is believed that the men then threatened the victim and demanded his backpack before taking it and running off down the street.
The man was then seen getting on the number 77 bus.
Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch and quote reference number 21*372406.
