Burglaries drop in the Belper area, say police

BELPER’S police chief has said the number of burglaries in the town has dropped significantly.

Sgt Richard Booth told a meeting of Belper Town Council that some really significant developments had been made in the town in the last month with regard to burglaries.

He said there had been a significant impact on the number of break-ins.

Sgt Booth also told the meeting that a small number of incidents involving snowballs had been reported during the recent wintry weather.

But he added that it was “nothing like” last year when heavy snow last hit the town.
