Hide AdProsecuting, Robert Carr said that a witness had heard shouting as he left the building and witnessed the attack, which left the woman sprawled on the floor.
He said: “The witness told police that he went outside with his girlfriend at around 11.50pm - he remembers the time because he almost missed the countdown. He heard a lot of shouting and then he saw the defendant push the woman. He then spun around with his feet and kicked her in the face and she fell to the floor.
“He told police that he had not seen what had led up to the incident and he saw the defendant walking off into another pub. He thought about chasing after him but decided not to because he didn’t want to be assaulted himself.”
Hunt was identified by the manager of the bar who knew him from the location when CCTV footage was played back.
