TWO men have been made to pay for the damage they caused to a shed in an ornamental garden in Belper.
The pair had been attending a wedding at a local venue when they entered Beaurepaire ornamental garden, on Bridgefoot, on Saturday, July 2, and caused damage to the roof of a metal shed.
Following a police investigation the men were identified and the owner of the garden contacted. It was agreed that the men should pay £380 towards the repair costs of the shed.
This was agreed by using restorative justice, which means that a crime is dealt with in a way which achieves a positive outcome in accordance with the victims’ wishes without the case going through the courts.
