Fundraising appeal launched for Ricky Collins who died after assault in Derbyshire

Police today launched a murder investigation after the death of a man named locally as Ricky Collins, who was found seriously injured in Westthorpe Road, Killamarsh, last night and taken to hospital, where he later died.
A fundraising appeal has now been set up in his memory, with more than £1,000 raised in just a few hours.

Hide AdStevie Fallon, who organised the appeal on the GoFundMe website, wrote: “We've all woken up this morning to the saddest news possible. You were taken away far too soon – a loving son, dad and partner.
"This is to try to make saying goodbye the biggest celebration we can and to take the pressure away from your loved ones.
"You will be truly missed by so many. We love you. RIP BIG RICK xxxx.”
Derbyshire Constabulary said officers had been called to reports of a disturbance at a house on Westthorpe Road yesterday at around 10pm.

Hide AdIt said a man was found injured near the junction of Westthorpe Road and Upperthorpe Road and later died in hospital.
Shocked residents claim Ricky was stabbed to death, but further details about the attack have not yet been released by police.
