A LAND Rover stolen from Belper took police on a pursuit involving a force helicopter.
Officers were suspicious of a Land Rover they spotted on Main Road, Stretton, Alfreton, at about 12.25am last Thursday, December 22.
They tried to pull the driver over but he drove off.
A pursuit through Teversal and Pleasley ensued, before the vehicle was stopped in a car park on Mill Street, Clowne.
A police helicopter had been deployed to follow the Land Rover from the air.
Officers arrested the male driver on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and vehicle theft after identifying that the Land Rover was registered to an address in Spencer Road, Belper.
A man was being questioned by officers.
l Meanwhile, police are running an operation until New Year’s Eve which will focus on domestic violence.
Operation Royle will see extra resources put in place to provide additional response to reports of domestic abuse.
