A man allegedly coughed in the face of a Derbyshire police officer.

Police attended Warner Street, Derby, during the early hours of April 24 after receiving reports of two men causing a disturbance in the road.

Officers stopped two men in the area and spoke to them about the allegations.

Sharman Worthington, 23, of Flint Street, Derby, allegedly coughed in an officer’s face.

Worthington, who was charged with assaulting an emergency worker, is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on June 22.
