Suspected cocaine found in Volkswagen outside Derbyshire McDonald's as driver handed Covid-19 fine

Officers on patrol in Clay Cross on March 1 were drawn to a black moped which was allegedly seen to hand a ‘small package’ to the driver of a Volkswagen just outside McDonald’s on Derby Road.
In a tweet, police said: “Unfortunately the rider of the bike decided he didn’t want to speak to us.”

Hide AdBut two small packages which are suspected to contain cocaine have been seized from the vehicle and the Volkswagen driver who had ‘an expensive night’ according to officers was also issued with a fine for breaching Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.
The motorist was dealt with for possession of Class A drugs and police enquiries remain ongoing.
On Facebook, one resident commented: “Thank you for trying to make the streets safe again for the rest of us.”
