Three men 'found hiding in loft' arrested after 'large cannabis grow' discovered in Bolsover

Three men “found hiding in the loft” were arrested after police discovered a “large cannabis grow” in Bolsover.

Officers from Bolsover and Clowne Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team (SNT) made the discovery during a property search on Chapel Street, Whaley Thorns at 4.30pm on Saturday, 17 October.

The men, aged 34, 33 and 32, were all arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis.

They have been released on bail while police inquiries continue, a spokesperson for Derbyshire Police confirmed.

A Bolsover and Clowne SNT spokesperson said: “After a great piece of teamwork from Shirebrook Police SNT, Clowne and Bolsover SNT, Firearms Officers, a Dog Unit and some fantastic community intelligence a large cannabis grow has been discovered at an address in Whaley Thorns.

"Three males were arrested at the property after being found hiding in the loft, they are currently in Police custody.”

The value of the grow was not disclosed.
