Watch moment an angry mob confronts police after teen's arrest in Chesterfield

During the latest episode of Traffic Cops, officer Jim Payne responds to an urgent call for backup from his colleague PC Tom Strachan, who is surrounded by an angry mob following a report of a teenager dangerous driving.

The teenager, emboldened by an equally hostile crowd of friends, has no insurance.

Bizarrely, when police decide to seize and tow his car away he takes out his frustrations on his own vehicle, repeatedly kicking door panels and jumping up on down on the bonnet.

Traffic Cops, presented by Jamie Theakston and billed by Channel Five as ‘Britain’s longest running and most watched police show’, has regularly featured officers from Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit dealing with major incidents on the county’s busiest roads.

The episode will be shown at 8pm tonight on Channel 5.
