Death crash case

A MOTORIST is to stand trial over the death of an elderly pedestrian in Ambergate.

Timothy Collis, 45, of Cromford, is accused of causing the death of Florence Crofts by dangerous driving on February 24 this year.

Ms Crofts, 78, of Marsh Lane, Belper, was on her way to a pantomime at St Anne’s Church when she was in collision with a car on the A6.

Collis, of Station House, pleaded not guilty to the charge last Friday, November 11. His trial has been set for Monday, January 16 next year at Nottingham Crown Court.
