AS PART of its 70th birthday celebrations, Denby firm Deb held a sunflower-growing competition for local schools.
Now, Denby Free Primary School has been declared the winner, with year two pupil Maisie Chamberlain growing her sunflower to an impressive 2.36 metres.
Maisie won a book and a gardening kit, while the school received a cheque for £250.
Deb’s managing director Jeff Bell said: “The competition was designed to engage with our local community — Deb employees of the future!”
From small beginnings in 1941, Deb’s product range has rapidly grown over the years and it is estimated that at least 40 million people use Deb products everyday in the workplace.
One of Deb’s latest hand cleansing products is Debasol, which incorporates sunflower oil.
