BELPER’S MP Pauline Latham has met with diabetes sufferers after one of her constituents contacted her about the condition.
The Tory politician was one of more than 50 MPs who met with roughly 60 adults and children with the condition and representatives from JDRF , the world’s leading type one diabetes research charity in London.
She said: “I was contacted personally by a constituent who wanted to make sure I would attend the meeting.
“It is vital that diabetes is given the attention that it needs and is high on the political agenda.
“Diabetes is a very important issue, and is a condition that is sadly on the increase.”
