A DROP-IN event held so people in Belper could have a say on the future of a piece of land in the town was attended by more than 400 people.
Amber Valley Borough Council organised the event, which was at the Masonic Rooms, Campbell Street, on Saturday. People were asked to vote on proposals for land between the River Derwent and the A6. Anyone who couldn’t attend can still register a vote by going to the Issues and Options Report on the council’s website. The closing date is April 9. Helen Metcalfe, who led the session, said: “I have run these events in the East Midlands for seven years and have never had such an amazing response.”
A council spokesman said the event was an “extravaganza”.
