Disqualified motorist on drink and drugs smashes into lorry on M1 in Derbyshire

A disqualified driver under the influence of alcohol and drugs smashed into a lorry on the M1 in Derbyshire.

The incident is thought to have taken place on the M1 Southbound J29 to Tibshelf Services in the early hours of Wednesday, April 29.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said the driver was already disqualified with no insurance, and refused to provide a blood sample. He was arrested and charged to appear at court.

A picture from the scene showed damage to the van’s bonnet.
