Drop Inn to stage its first music festival

Belper’s The Drop Inn is hosting its first ever festival event on Saturday, September 21, showcasing young musicians.

The event will also include interactive arts by Andrew Martyn Sugars, from Corridor Arts, live graffiti from Angry Face, Rews, Reks,Rise & Kise, VJ master classes throughout the day from Urban Projections, games tournament, testing and exchange from Replay Belper. There will also be unplugged taster sessions in the JamJar music studio.

The bands line-up includes Jasper in the Company of Others, David Lacey, Joe Brown, Lucy Milford, Great Scott, Hot Rybena, Shattered Ghost, Just James, Young Face, Time is Up, Parasight, Amy and Lily, Laurie and Rosie, and Morgan.

DJs will include Dave Angle, One Bomb, Pete Simpson, Skairpigg. Bentex, Patchwerk and Decrux.

A spokesman said it would be a real variety of music genres.

The event starts at 1pm at the Drop Inn on Derwent Street, live music is split between three stages until 10pm followed by DJs until 2am (over 18s only). Programmes of timings available on the day.

Entry is £3, under 18s are free. It is a community and family event with something for everyone, proceeds are to go to the charity-run Drop Inn .
