A record 63 Scouts from eight local troops took part in the annual Belper District Scouts It’s a Knockout competition held at Belper Leisure Centre at the weekend.
The event, on Saturday November 18, consisted of a series of fun games based in the pool, testing everything from the Scouts’ swimming, balance and problem solving abilities to their kayaking skills.
After a hard fought competition, taking on challenges such as ‘the Path of Doom’, ‘The Secret Message’ and ‘ Up the Creek Without a Paddle’, the eventual winners were 1st Duffield Friday troop, with 1st Alton Manor Bradelei troop as runners up and 1st Openwoodgate and 1st Alton Manor Beaurepaire troop in joint third.
