The mother of a teenager who died of an undiagnosed heart condition is staging an event to raise awareness of sudden cardiac death in the young.
Elaine Wright, 52, from Allestree. lost her 19-year-old son Sam in December 2011.
Since then, more than £13,000 has been raised in Sam’s name for charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY).
Now community paramedic Gareth Mallon will give a talk at 7pm on Wednesday August 29, at Derby Rugby Club, Darley Abbey.
Mrs Wright said: “It’s so important people are more aware of this condition.”
