A FARM shop in Duffield has announced it will be supporting two charities this year.

Throughout 2012, Croots will be raising cash for the Shire Horse Society and the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

The shop, on Wirksworth Road, supports the society in recognition of the shire horses that live in the fields around the shop. Croots supported the charity last year as well.

The holiday centre provides disadvantaged children in Derbyshire with holidays in Skegness.

Steve Croot, who runs Croots, said: “With the support of our customers and staff, we have raised many hundreds of pounds for charities since we launched in June, 2008, and this year we hope to continue the good work. We plan to have a number of events and competitions which we hope will raise much-needed funds for these two causes.
