A CAR wash by a young farmers’ club harvested just over £250 for charity.

The Derby Young Farmers’ Club held the eight-hour marathon event in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.

It was held at Croots Farm Shop, Wirksworth Road, Duffield.

Steve Croot, who runs the farm shop, said: “We were pleased to help out and offer a venue for this year’s charity car wash by Derby Young Farmers’ Club.

“And we would like to thank our customers for supporting the effort.”

The young farmers asked for a minimum donation of £3 per car towards their cause.

The club is part of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC), which is made up of more than 650 clubs and has more than 23,000 members across England and Wales.

Membership is open to anyone aged between 10 and 26.
