Firm's record turnover

The company recorded a figure of £49.7m between October 2014 and September 2015, compared to £32.7m in the previous year.

The firm has also promoted construction manager Mark Winstanley to construction director and has taken on three new staff in addition to the seven new employees taken on towards the end of last year.

The three new roles include two site managers and a contracts manager, taken on to manage the company’s increasing workload.

Last year, after Wildgoose won more than £30m worth of orders in a six-week period, the firm employed two trainee site managers, one management trainee, three assistant quantity surveyors, a design and build manager and an administrative assistant.

The £30m worth of orders included two primary schools, in Sheffield and Oldbury, a car auction centre in Birmingham, a medical centre in Sheffield, a college centre in Mansfield, a pub in Washington for brewers Marston’s and an arts centre in Halifax.

Jonathan Wildgoose, Executive Chairman of Wildgoose Construction, said they were delighted to have posted a record turnover of almost £50m.

“We consider one of the main keys to our success to have been our focus on employing and retaining skilled construction specialists with experience across a range of industry sectors.

“We have also split off our residential housing division into a separate company, Wildgoose Homes Ltd. The company has a quality land bank and is looking forward to the development of a number of sites. All in all we have commenced an exciting period in our development and look to the future.”

The increase in staff comes after the firm expanded and moved premises in May 2014, from Ashover to Alfreton, when it created 10 new jobs.
