Free tickets to top culinary festival are up for grabs

Food lovers can scoop free entry to a top culinary event after the Belper News teamed up with organisers Derbyshire County Council to give away two pairs of tickets.

The Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair takes place on May 17 and 18 at Elvaston Castle, near Derby. Around 150 stalls will be selling tasty goodies - ranging from cakes and pastries to buffalo burgers, and Derbyshire cheeses to locally-brewed beers.

Celebrity chef Dean Edwards, has signed up to stage cooking demonstrations alongside local chefs in the cookery theatre.

Councillor Joan Dixon, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Jobs, Economy and Transport, said: “The Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair was launched over a decade ago and has gone strength to strength since with a record 15,600 people attending last year. It is a fantastic day out for all of the family and it also helps to celebrate and support local food and drink producers and boost the local economy.”

There will be entertainment and live music throughout the weekend.
