The Ritz Cinema in King Street, Belper, is opening its doors to all for a one-off free film screening to help celebrate mental health culture.
With local charity Derbyshire Voice a free screening of “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower” is set for anyone who wants to attend, only on Tuesday, July 14 at 6pm.
The film, starring Emma Watson and Logan Lerman, is a gently positive and inspiring film about one boys experience with his own mental health, and the valuable support he gets from his misfit friends.
Derbyshire Voice is a local user-led organisation and by supporting past and present receivers of mental health services to attend NHS meetings to represent the views of other service receivers they play an important part in working to improve mental health services across Derby City and Derbyshire.
This event is being played as part of International “Mad Pride” day which is a grassroots movement of users and refusers of the psychiatric system that join together to celebrate mental health culture and explore the “positives” of “madness” and individuality.
