GENEROUS children at Kilburn Junior School raised a whopping £1,208 for a cancer charity by holding a coffee morning.
Helped by recently-retired teaching assistant Pat Whetton, eight year six youngsters organised bring and buy stalls, a raffle and coffee and cakes to raise funds for Macmillan.
Nigel Pratley, head teacher at the school on The Flat, said: “I am hugely proud of the children’s efforts and commitment. They were involved in planning, organisation and the publicity.”
The event is an annual one held by the school in aid of Macmillan. Mr Pratley said: “Cancer affects a lot of people. This a charity we like to support.”
