Guide to breast cancer book to be published

BREAST cancer is now the most common cancer in the UK and accounts for more than a quarter of all cancers in women, according to Cancer Research UK.

Each year around 46,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with the disease, which equates to 125 new cases every day.

Breast Cancer – The Essential Guide is for anyone looking for clear, accessible information about breast cancer and its treatments. For those just diagnosed and their families, it offers simple advice, information and support at a frightening and worrying time.

In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, Need2Know are donating £1 from every copy of Breast Cancer – The Essential Guide sold to Cancer Research UK. Books can be ordered directly from our website www.need2knowbooks.co.uk or by calling Need2Know on 01733 898103.

This comprehensive guide takes women through the entire process: from testing and diagnosis, through to treatment options and recovery and also includes a foreword by two Macmillan breast cancer nurse specialists.

The author Katherine Locke was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. While trying to find out as much as she could about her condition she found the amount of information overwhelming and much of it conflicting. She says, ‘It is my hope that this book has pared the plethora of information down to the bone and given anyone interested in breast cancer the best possible starting point.’

If you have just received a diagnosis of breast cancer, or know someone who has, Breast Cancer – The Essential Guide will provide you with the clear and sensitive advice you need.
