A CUTE puppy has helped an opticians in Belper raise £280 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind charity.
Lancaster and Thorpe, which is based on King Street, held a fun day in aid of the charity.
And the star attraction was a trainee guide dog called Poppy, who was fussed over by visitors all day.
Store manager Kate Reddish said: “It was an absolutely fantastic day. Everybody was really supportive.
“We would like to thank everybody who donated.”
The fun involved face painting and guess the name of a cuddly toy dog to a bid to win it.
There were also cakes, buns and coffees on sale in exchange for a donation to the charity.
Guides Dogs for the Blind has been breeding and training dogs to help people with sight problems for more than 75 years.
