Up to 70 new jobs could be created after plans were unveiled to build a major warehouse and office complex near Belper.

Developer Garner Holdings wants to bring a new 110,000 sq ft warehouse and a further 10,000 sq ft of offices to Denby Hall Business Park.

The development is set to boost the local economy and employment prospects – with a further 70 full time jobs.

Garner Holdings are not yet revealing the firm behind the plans, but describe it as a ‘local business’.

Neil Harris, of agents Harris Lamb said: “The speed and quality of this development is a credit to both the ambitions of Garner Holdings and to the local area.

“This is a prestigious, high-tech business park for local companies to use as a base for their international business, and its success within the East Midlands is second to none.

“The news of this latest sizeable contract is further proof that the region’s market is burgeoning and that Denby Hall and Garner Holdings are responsive to the demands of businesses wanting a strong regional presence.”

Roger Hartshorn, of Garner Holdings said: “The success of HL Plastics and Tarpey Harris since moving onto Denby Hall 12 years ago has been amazing. HL has grown from 125 employees to 550, and TarpeyHarris from 25 to 125 . ”

Denby Hall has been a major success for the area since it developed the first buildings 12 years ago. The industrial estate now employs about 2,000 full time employees on the site, in addition to the other local businesses that provide supplies and services.
