Kids tidy up woods in half-term hols

A team of youngsters from Ripley and Belper spent three days of their half term clearing, planting and litter picking in woodland, just off Haddon Close in Bullbridge.

The ten youngsters are Voices of Youth Community Rangers, a volunteering programme set up by housing association Futures Homescape with the aim of having a positive impact in the community.

Development manager Sarah Whattam said: “Despite the bad weather, everyone got into good spirits and a lot of positive work was done. It was great to see the kids enjoying themselves. A trip to Cadbury World was just what they deserved after all that hard work in the rain!”
