The Grade II* listed sandstone bridge straddling the Ashbourne Road linked two separate areas of the former Strutt Mills complex.
The archway also served a defensive role when it was built in 1795. Along its length are gun embrasures which protected the West Mill counting house.
The image was captured by our photographer Brian Eyre, who is often out and about in the town taking shots of beautiful Belper. We love to see your pictures of the area too – send them by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or drop them off at our community postbox at the News Corner, King Street, Belper, which is opposite the Market Place.
