a DUFFIELD NHS manager got into gear when he and his family took part in a 35-mile bike ride for charity.
Lee Outhwaite, is the information and finance director at Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and has taken part in the Pedal in the Peaks event to raise money for the hospitals’ charity fund.
Around 90 people raised around £3,500, when they took part in the first ever Pedal in the Peaks event on Sunday, June 12. The cyclists set off from Carsington Water, said Kerry Wood, community fundraiser for Derby Hospitals Charity.
She said: “Some of the money raised will be used to purchase specialist rehabilitation and re-ablement chairs for our elderly patients and other patients who have difficulty sitting safely and comfortably.”
