MATLOCK: Lions’ trolley dash proceedsgo to Rainbows’ hospice

Proceeds from a trolley dash, run by Matlock Derwent Valley Lions Club, will go towards the care of children and young people with terminal illnesses.

Lions president Peter Smissen presented a cheque for £450 to Paula North, the Derbyshire fundraiser for Rainbows Hospice, which is based in Loughborough.

Handing over the cheque at a social event in the Square & Compass, Darley Bridge, Peter said: “It is a pleasure to be able to assist such an amazing organisation that supports children and their families, throughout such a difficult period in their lives. I should particularly like to thank everyone who bought tickets from us, in the Co-op supermarket, during the promotion of the trolley dash. We are also indebted to Martyn Ellson and his colleagues in the store for all their help and generosity”.
